If your interested in scouting, we’d love to hear from you, from Joeys right through to Rovers there is something for everyone. As a family based group we also welcome parent helpers,  and aspiring future leaders too.  Joining involves becoming an Australian member as well as contributing to our local group.
Membership costs involve three basic fees:

  • Scout Association Membership Fee – Paid to the Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch.
  • Section Subscription – To provide our group with resources for weekly activities.
  • Annual Service Fee – To assist with fundraising (waived for those helping out)

Scout Association Membership Fee

At the end of each Scout Year (31st March), the Victor Scout Group is required to pay an annual membership fee for each member to the Scout Association of Australia, Queensland Branch.

Scout Association fees cover Scout Headquarters administration and support costs.

Youth members enrolling from April 2016 will be required to pay fees in accordance with the scale below. This fee consists of an enrolment fee and membership fee. The fee payable is calculated from the date of the youth member joined the group.

Section Subscription

To enable us to provide weekly meetings for each of the Scout Sections, a number of resources are needed, such as craft material, first aid equipment, maps, compasses, etc. These resources enable us to deliver our Scout Program to all of our members, and are paid for out of our Section Subscriptions.

For the 2016/2017 year, the section fees are $25 per term (or $100 per year).

Annual Service Fee

The Service Fee works to encourage more families to participate in fundraising activities such as BBQs, and to relieve the financial burden of maintenance of the Den on the Group. This fee will be refunded at the end of the year if the family participates in the equivalent of 4 fundraising, or similar, activities during the year.

Currently the annual service fee is $100 per family.


To provide training and insurance cover for the Group (accident and income protection for Leaders and members of the Committee), to equip the Sections with camping equipment etc, funds need to be raised.

All families are expected to participate in the fundraising activities undertaken by the Group. By raising funds in this manner, it will prevent the need for additional levies to be charged or increases in Section Subscriptions.

Victor Scout Group fundraising activities include:

  • Sausage sizzles at Bunnings Mt Gravatt store.
  • Sausage sizzles at ANZAC Day service in WJ Scott Park – supported by the Holland Park Sub-Branch of the Queensland RSL.
  • Annual Christmas raffle.


Members can pay for the above charges by cash or cheque, however, our preferred method of payment is by direct credit to the Victor Scout Group bank account.
