A very special event happened on 18 August – one of our Joeys moved up to the Cub pack! Our Joey worked diligently to complete his link and Promise badge work and we were so proud to see him advance up to cubs and continue his scouting journey. Our ADC awarded him his final Joey badges before taking him to be presented to the cub pack.

Victor Joeys have been working hard this month to earn their Scouts in Action badges. This years theme is anti-bullying and the Joeys created our ‘Mob Laws’, discussed what to do if you are bullied and made masks showing their feelings about bullying. Well done Joeys! Now you can wear your badge with pride until 31 October.

Question: What’s a Cub Scout to do when the achievement badges are coming thick and fast and his sewing skills just can’t keep up??
Answer: Pay his little sister to sew them on of course!! (Parent note: Hmmmm, seems I need to cut back on the weekly pocket money…..)
But seriously, the Victor Cubs have been so busy this Term. Lots of activities each week focussed on progress towards their Boomerang badges – health and first aid, safety, fitness and scientific discovery, just to name a few! They’ve also managed to earn Achievement badges, such as Scientist, First Aider and Cyclist!
All of this could not have been done without the fantastic support of our Parent Helpers each week, and of course, our wonderful Cubs Leader, Kaa!

Bagheera had us Dad’s cllmbing the rigging s, and big joeys vs little joeys faced off over a number of games , before a light supper. Well done dads!!

Last night we visited the nearby Model Railway society. Boy these things have certainly changed since the dads were boys. Network controllers, switch boards and task sheets to be a real railway operator. The Joeys had a great time…and i think the mums and dads did too. Thats Guys! For more infer see them at

Joey Jaunt. What happens when you get all the Joeys in Brisbane together …well we found out and it was capital A for awesome!
Well the boys had a day at BP Park in Samford (Its called Joey Jaunt), we decided to go a day early and camp out as the property is open to the public too. Basically what was once a big day trip in the day to Samford is now a park of brisbane really, but its a really big bushland reserve. Anyways we had the place to ourselves on the Friday night, but come Saturday there were 500 people there. So a great night of solitude and a great day out for the boys.
